Today I am launching Violetly, a tool for people chasing financial independence.
I have been investing since I was 18, at that point I was aware the modern financial system was designed to make me spend more than saving.
Currencies inflating every year, high taxes and intense advertising encouraging me to spend my money. For me, it was clear that I should fight against it by controlling my expenses, saving for emergencies and investing for the future so I could have a chance at financial independence. Unfortunately there are gaps between the plan, execution and goal.
Violetly is here to help you see the gaps and fill them, my second attempt since Invetu in 2023, this time with a focus on simplicity and clarity (also better technical decisions).
Looking back without drowning in it
Financial independence is not only numbers and lines on charts. It is also a record of decisions: what you saved when things were tight, what you spent when life got expensive, what you owned that actually grew. Most tools either bury that history or drown you in transactions until the signal disappears.
I wanted something that could hold the past lightly enough to see your conquests day by day, not as a guilt trip, but as proof that the work happened.
Standing in the present
The present is where most money apps stop. Balances. Budgets. Charts that look good until you close the tab.
Useful, sure. Incomplete, though. If all you get is a snapshot, you never really know whether today is progress or just weather. Violetly is meant to make the present readable: cash flow, net worth, investments, the plan you said you would follow - in one place, so you are not switching tabs to feel oriented.
Projecting the future you already chose
The future part matters as much as the rest. Not because anyone can predict markets, but because a goal without a projection is just a hope with better branding.
If you decided years ago that independence meant something specific. Runway, a coast number, a date you stop needing a paycheck the way you need it now. That decision should still be visible. Violetly is built so past reasons, present numbers, and future projections can sit together. Same tool. Same story.
What I hope this becomes for you
I am not going to pretend software replaces discipline. It does not. What it can do is remove the friction that makes people abandon the work: the broken spreadsheet, the forgotten goal, the sense that yesterday and tomorrow are somehow unrelated.
If you are someone who wants financial independence (or even just a clearer relationship with money) I hope Violetly helps you see what you have already done, where you stand, and where you are headed. Use it well. That is the whole point.
This is the first post on this blog. More will come — product notes, money systems, the messy middle of building something people actually open on a Tuesday night. For now, this is the why.
